Campaigns

A large part of Samriddhi’s advocacy efforts are streamlined through its campaigns that are informed by the research it undertakes. Our campaigns provide us with an opportunity to interact with the  larger population and link policies with people.  They also enable us to engage the citizenry in public policy process, which is very important in a democracy.

Samriddhi hosts the secretariat of a highly popular campaign “Gari Khana Deu (a Nepali expression that translates to ‘Let me earn my living)”. The campaign is an effort to raise voices to end the prevailing lawlessness and impunity in the country by advocating for rule of law, safety of life and property and freedom to enterprise as essential preconditions to a livable country. Samriddhi also runs a campaign that stresses on five fundamentals of democracy. The campaign was initiated in February 2011 and is titled “Democracy is…: A National Campaign”. It has reached more than a million people in Nepal through Public Service Announcements (PSA) on National Dailies, radio stations, televisions, billboards, etc. More on the campaign’s official website: democracyis.net
