Global Entrepreneurship Week is a week dedicated to existing and aspiring entrepreneurs who through their startups introduce or are capable of introducing innovation and jobs – driving economic growth and expanding human welfare.

GEW, today, has become the world’s largest entrepreneurship celebration. It aims to inspire people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. The activities that ranges from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connects participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

The GEW was initiated in 2008, by former UK Prime Minister Gordan Brown and Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Since then, it has grown to 160 countries with nearly 20,000 partner organizations planning activities that directly engage more than 10 million people. Samriddhi Foundation has been the official host organization for GEW celebration in Nepal since 2010.

GEW 2018 focuses on four major themes – Youth, Women, Inclusiveness and Ecosystem Connect. This year, GEW Nepal 2018 will be celebrated under the theme ‘Connecting the Ecosystem, under which three activities have been planned – Ecosystem Connect, Being Udhyami and Policy Bottlenecks in Entrepreneurship.

One of the key objectives of the GEW 2018’s planned activities is to bring together a number of enterprise and business related individuals to come together in order for us to form an effective Global Entrepreneurship Network – Nepal board. This will allow a more dedicated group of individuals to work together to promote a self-sustaining ecosystem of entrepreneurship that will support and stimulate entrepreneurship in Nepal.

Interested individuals/businesses can collaborate with Samriddhi to run the previously mentioned activities(as sponsors, venue partners and/or logistics partners) or participate in celebrating GEW by organizing more activities with us.
