Greed, Need, Risk and Regulation

Greed, Need, Risk and Regulation

July 25, 2014 marked the continuation of the liberty discussion series with 12 people discussing on ‘Greed, Need, Risk and Regulation’ at Gaia moderated by Akash Shrestha.

The discussion revolved around Anthony de Jasay’s essay, ‘Greed, Need, Risk and Regulation’, which essentially reviews common criticisms against Capitalism; it being money-oriented and therefore, greedy hence giving rise to inequality. Participants judged these against the pros and cons of a planned economy, where the government has the upper hand. It resulted in an intruding discussion tallying the two systems against teach other.
