The month of February saw team members at Samriddhi venturing out to eight economic centres outside the capital, under the banner of ‘Power of Ideas’ to deliberate with the local youth on local economic and policy issues. The series of half-day workshops at Dharan, Janakpur, Birgunj, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal, Surkhet and Dhangadi featured some of the leading young idea enthusiasts identifying most pressing local economic and social issues, and trying to discover new innovative ways to transforming the local economies by converting the local problems into opportunities.
The workshop saw the participants working in groups to identify local problems and dissect them further to bring out their root causes, in the first half. The second half saw them working in groups again, to come up with innovative ways to change the current situation, in the meantime, creating opportunities for transforming the local economies. Participants worked together to design research and campaign components to deal with the identified local problems.
We return, truly inspired by the new ways of thinking of the potential next generation of idea leaders, and look forward to engaging with our participants further to concretize their thoughts further in the months to come, and continue to learn from them. Please stay tuned for the follow-ups on the Power of Ideas.
