19th Arthalaya took place from 19th – 24th March, 2015 at Dhulikhel, Kavre. This batch had twelve girls and twelve boys as twenty four participants from various colleges who attend the session on economics and entrepreneurship.
The sessions conducted by renowned guest speakers focused on multidimensional perspective of possibilities of entrepreneurship development in Nepal. Mr. Biswas Dhakal, F1 Soft International, shared his experiences and views on IT entrepreneurship and how it brings opportunities in Nepalese market. Mr. Anil Chitrakar gave lessons on areas of Nepal where entrepreneurship could foster and what requires to be an successful entrepreneur. Mr. Chitrakar talked about much needed technological innovations and creative designs for growth in Nepal. Mr. Niraj Khanal, One to Watch, explained how SMEs are driving force of the economy and what matters at start-up and growth of a business.
The outdoor sessions aimed to build teamwork and communicate were most enjoyable. The enterprise module was one of the engaging session that involved running an enterprise within six days to give the feel of entrepreneurship. The most profitable business wins the ‘Samridh Company’ of the batch.
The facilitators held talks on voluntary exchange and morality of markets to open ideas to need of successful market. The debate session on trade versus aid led to heated discussion on ideals of trade. The participants acquired knowledge on how a business runs and how the possible obstacles can be reduced through planning. The participants learned about ideas on economy and market in five days training. The participants reflected their views on how arthalaya has helped them to grow and learn during graduation ceremony.
Apart from learning business and economics, participants valued the platform as access to building networks among themselves and learn what aspirations their fellow participants hold.
