Since a country’s prosperity largely depends on the policy choices it makes, Samriddhi realizes the importance of creating a widespread understanding on public policy issues. In a democratic environment where citizens are able to influence policies, it is important that people are informed about the policy making process and the possible consequences (intended and unintended) of policies that are enacted. Samriddhi’s education and training efforts in public policy has been towards developing a wide understanding of public policies, focusing on the youth of the country. These education and training programs on public policy engage, empower and train young people (who are likely to be able to influence public policy choices and decision making in the longer run) on important issues of Nepal’s public policy discourse.
