Samriddhi Foundation ranked 115th out of 143 in 2020 Best Independent Think Tanks in the 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. The report is released annually by The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. Often referred to as the “think tanks’ think tank”, TTCSP works with leading scholars and policy practitioners to produce the report.
The report recognized Samriddhi as one of the 2020 Top Domestic Economic Policy Think Tanks, ranking 136th out of 143 think tanks. Samriddhi also secured the 96th position among out of 110 think tanks in the Top South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific (excluding India) category.
Along with Samriddhi, Centre for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA), Institute for Social and Environmental Transition (ISET-N), Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS), Nepal South Asia Centre (NESAC), Nepal Economic Forum (NEF), Sajha Foundation, Center For South Asian Studies(CSAS), and Nepal Consortium for South Asian Think Tanks (COSATT) have been included in Top Think Tanks in South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific (excluding India) category. Nepal Consortium for South Asian Think Tanks (COSATT) has also been included among think tanks with Best Policy and Institutional Response to COVID-19. Likewise, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) is ranked 52nd in the category of 2020 Top Food Security Think Tanks. Hriti Foundation, Pokhara Research Centre (PRC), Everest Policy Institute (EPI), and Nepal Policy Institute (NPI) made their debut on the Best New Think Tank 2020 list.
This year’s Global Go To Think Tank Index Report is the 15th edition of the report that examines the evolving role and characteristics of public policy research organizations and acknowledges the important contributions and emerging global trends of think tanks worldwide. The index cataloged 11,175 think tanks worldwide with inputs from over 3,974 plus journalists, policymakers, public and private donors, and area specialists from around the world.
