Samriddhi’s Econ-ity program was recognized with the 2016 Asia Liberty Award at the Asia Liberty Forum in Malaysia this year! This award is part of Atlas Network‘s Regional Liberty Awards. This prestigious title was awarded to Samriddhi for the success Econ-ity has seen since its initiation in 2013 in creating a platform for dialogue on economic reform, especially in the latest policy discourse on foreign investments and energy sector reforms. Econ-ity constitutes of both an online forum (the blog) and a face-to-face discussion on contemporary economic issues.
Our effort with Econ-ity has always been about bringing people with diverse views to one platform and contesting ideas based on evidence and we are happy that it has developed as a platform that expands the public’s partcipation in public policy formulation process. The many economists, politicians, bureaucrats, policy-makers and journalists we have engaged with in the past three years in course of holding several dozen of Econ-ity events are all important parts of this success.
Our most recent Econ-ity hosted Dr. Eamonn Butler, Director of Adam Smith Institute, UK and discussed on the need to engage the private sector in economic policy reform. You can find details of the discussion here!
