Minimum Wage has been an issue of contention all around the world. Nepal too has faced its share of problems due to minimum wage conflicts between labor unions and the industries. Generally, it is believe that minimum wage help to uplift the economic well-being of the workers by making sure that they get a certain standard of remuneration. By guaranteeing a minimum wages through legislation, governments hope to ensure that everyone gets “fair” wages for their labor. The popularity and political motives of minimum wages has left the concept uncontested in the political discourses.
