Unfolding the Narrative behind Privatisation in Nepal

This paper provides a brief analysis of Nepal’s privatisation process. It attempts to shed light on the political economy of Nepal’s state-owned enterprises reform. In doing so it relies on proceedings of the privatisation committee, discussions in the parliament and key informant interviews. This political economy analysis serves as foundational knowledge which can be used to complement future endeavours.
