ईः (Iih) को यात्रा

Everyday experiences often reveal dimensions of public policy that remain invisible in official debates. Across Nepal, migration, informal work, and uneven access to opportunity continue to shape the lives of thousands of people, yet their concerns frequently receive limited attention in political decision-making. The tensions surrounding street vending in Kathmandu illustrate broader questions about urban governance, inclusion, livelihood security, and whose voices are represented when cities pursue modernization and development.

Through reflections from years of travel and grassroots engagement, Iih shares how encounters with diverse communities informed his advocacy. His experiences highlight the importance of dialogue, civic participation, and policies that recognize the realities of informal workers, while emphasizing that meaningful change begins with listening to those most affected by public decisions.

The text is an abridged and translated version of the July 2025 edition of Sambaad @ Samriddhi. Sambaad @ Samriddhi is a monthly discussion on contemporary issues held on the last Friday of each month. In this edition, ईः(Iih) shares his journey of travel and advocacy, highlighting how essential discourses around change can be. The discussion was moderated by Nistha Shrestha.
