Nepal’s cooperative sector, once envisioned as a pillar of inclusive economic development, is now facing pressing concerns around trust, regulation, and governance. He highlights the need for stronger oversight, clearer legal frameworks, and more effective enforcement to rebuild public confidence and ensure cooperatives operate in line with their intended developmental purpose.
