As a part of GEW 2014, Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation organized “Story of An Entrepreneur” with Mr. Biswas Dhakal on December 1st, 2014. The event was held at KCM at 12 noon.
Mr. Deependra Chaulagain, Director of Operations and Outreach at Samriddhi, started the session with introduction of Samriddhi and GEW to the students of KCM.
The session was led on by Mr. Biswas Dhakal, CEO of F1 Soft International. He shared his experiences from childhood to being a dominant player in the Nepalese Digital Transaction Market. He was always motivated by innovations during his childhood. While doing his bachelor course, he wanted to innovate hardwares and make it global. While doing the software engineering course, he started to work in Plan International. He learned to understand about the USP of new technologies and targeting the specific market. Then he started a project and after a year and a half of its launch he was able to expand the project.
Mr. Dhakal now has expanded the services from F1 Soft International such as esewa and Cash On Ad that holds 170 staffs. The companies provide services such as internet banking, remittance and mobile banking. He shared that one needs to be capable of grasping the opportunity and making the most of it. He encouraged students to transform their interests into business and business into their passion.
The session then continued with interactions with students.
Students: How feasible is it for Nepali brand to get hold in abroad?
Mr. Dhakal: It is not difficult for IT sector. If you have a global quality product and proper knowledge on targeting market, you can flourish.
Students: What is the vital element for startups in business?
Mr. Dhakal: It is important to study the market and plan on financial procedures. It is necessary to understand ground reality.
