Liberty Discussion on “Nepal’s land use legislation is flawed: What should be done?”

Liberty Discussion for the month of June was conducted on the article Nepal’s land use legislation is flawed: What should be done? by Ayushma Maharjan published in Nepal Live Today. With the federal government intending to segregate land based on their use, the discussion revolved around the merits and demerits of the intended plan. Participants delivered arguments against the segregation of land and found it to be a major threat to private property however, participants also maintained their stance regarding haphazard plotting and sale of land currently taking place throughout the country. The discussion also took place on the possible direction the government could have steered into rather than imposing a restrictive regulation on the use of private lands.
